Make sure you watch East Texas Live on Mondays at 11 a.m. where we'll announce one pet as the "Pet Pic of the Week" and feature it right here. Then watch KETK 56 Today on Thursdays where we'll feature more East Texas pets.

Please make sure the files are in .jpg or .gif format and no larger than 640x480 pixels. Submissions will be posted once they have been approved.

Are you ready for a pet of your own?
The Humane Society of Smith County invites you think it through. Adopting a pet is a big decision. You're about to make a long-term commitment, so you want to be sure it's right for you. Ask yourself, am I ready for a pet? Is this the right time? Do I have enough time to devote to my new companion? Will I be able to care for a dog or cat with the resources I have?
