TYLER-East Texans got a chance to see some emergency experts show off their skills at Tyler State Park Saturday.
The Tyler Amateur Radio Club and the East Texas Emergency Communications Service demonstrated how HAM radios can be used in emergencies to communicate.
HAMS can provide emergency communications for agencies such as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and FEMA.
There are 674,000 licensed amateur radio operators in the U.S. and more than 2.6 million worldwide.
