DALLAS - The F.B.I. has arrested a teenager and charged him with trying to bomb a downtown Dallas skyscraper.
Agents say 19-year old Jordanian national Hosam Maher Husein Smadi wanted to bring down the building with what they are calling a weapon of mass destruction.
According to an affidavit issued by the Department of Justice, Smadi was arrested Thursday after placing a decoy car bomb at Foundation Place, a 60-story glass office tower in Dallas.
The F.B.I. says they have been keeping watch over Smadi, who is in the U.S. illegally, living and working in Italy, Texas, about 445 miles south of Dallas.
No one was injured in the decoy car bombing attempt.
