WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, the government is expected to release new figures on the economy.
President Obama meets with private economic experts to discuss home sales, construction and manufacturing. In addition, they are expected to discuss the recent bankruptcy of CIT.
CIT finances more than half the retail industry, helping 300,000 stores pay for the products you buy. Experts say CIT's chapter 11 filing demonstrates that the economy is still hurting.
"Our work is not yet done. We are digging ourselves out of a hole and we've
begun to pull ourselves back from the brink," said President Obama.
On Friday, the government will issue a report on how many jobs were lost in the month of October. Economists are expecting 175,000 cuts.
"I would hope that we've seen some economic growth but Americans all around the country continue to ask where the jobs are," says House Minority Leader, Representative John Boehner.
