****SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS UNTIL 4:15 PM FOR ANGELINA, NACOGDOCHES, SOUTHERN SHELBY, SAN AUGUSTINE AND WESTERN SABINE COUNTIES***
Showers and thunderstorms formed over the Tyler-Longview area during midday and intensified somewhat as they moved eastward, producing wind gusts of over 40 mph in parts of Panola and Harrison counties where a severe thunderstorm warning was issued around 2 PM. Those storms have now moved into Lousiana, but a trailing area of storms extends across parts of Panola, Shelby, Nacogdoches, Angelina, San Augustine and Sabine counties. No significant damage has been reported however than can be some brief wind gusts in excess of 40 mph as well as some scattered small hail. A few showers of lesser intensity are continuing in the Tyler and Longview areas and a few more could pop up during the course of the rest of this afternoon, but most areas in the central and western portions of East Texas will not experience any severe weather. Clouds and a few light showers may linger tonight, but drier air will gradually move into the area on Thursday leading to clearing skies during the afternoon with a noticeably reduction in the humidity. Beautiful weather will followe for Friday with cool early morning lows near 60 and comfortablly warm afternoon highs in the mid 80s. Sunshine and hotter weather is in store for the weekend with a gradual increase in the humidity.

Winds becoming NNW 10-15 mph, but with much higher gusts near thunderstorms in some southern and eastern areas.
