Tyler, TX (KETK) — A man is in critical condition after a house exploded Wednesday morning while he was inside.
He was taken to a Dallas Hospital and is in critical condition.
It happened around 11:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Southeast Loop 323.
Witnesses reported the man was seen running out of the house on fire.
Multiple people stopped to help the burning man, some even used their jackets and shirts to try and help put out the fire on him.
Two Good Samaritans were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries and have since been released.
No one else was inside the house at the time of the explosion.
Upon arrival, firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly quickly, but the house sustained heavy fire damage.
Investigators believe the man inside the house was doing some type of floor work when the house exploded.
Information gathered at the scene indicates the victim was using solvents to refinish the floor when vapors ignited.
The actual ignition source has not been determined.
Names of the victims have not yet been released.
