Oklahoma — The Department of Homeland Security is finally providing some answers to its major purchase of ammunition in the last year.
In a letter to one senator, the DHS says despite reports that the agency has purchased 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, it actually has 263-million rounds in its current inventory.
It says the bulk of its ammo is designated for use in customs and border protection.
