Tyler, TX — Tyler Police officer Matt Riggle has been "no billed" in the fatal shooting that happened on New Year's Eve.
Smith County District Attorney Matt Bingham tells KETK, this means the Grand Jury found that Officer Riggle was justified in using deadly force against Victor Fuentes, and found no probable cause to believe his actions were criminal.
The incident happened on January 1, 2013 on the 600 block of East Queen St. in Tyler.
Officer Riggle had been reassigned to an administrative duty pending the outcome of the Grand Jury investigation.
He will remain on administrative duty until the conclusion of the police department’s administrative investigation, which is expected to be concluded next week.
