Chapel Hill (KETK) — Three Smith County Deputies were treated at a local hospital this morning after responding to an assault call.
At 3:30 a.m., Deputies arrived at the 12000 block of FM 3226 in Chapel Hill, where a woman had said she was cut with a knife by her husband.
After arriving on scene, deputies noticed blood outside the home and a shattered glass door at the front of the house.
They heard a man's voice inside and after locating the man they saw he was covered in blood and appeared to be intoxicated.
Deputies ordered the man to lie down on the ground, but he refused and had to be subdued.
The victim was found outside the home with several injuries.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital. And will later be taken to Smith County Jail and booked on assault charges and resisting arrest.
The three deputies were also taken to a local hospital for minor injuries and exposure to blood.
The identities of the victim and the suspect involved are at this time unknown while the investigation is ongoing.
