Tyler TX (KETK) — The ammunition shortage and higher prices have had many gun owners working to save and stockpile their bullets.
But what about those who shoot competitively?
KETK spoke with competitors in the IDPA event at Lock and Load Shooting range in Tyler.
Contestants worked through four different courses, working on moving, and using cover in real life situations.
Organizers did make changes to help shooters conserve ammo, by lowering the amount of shots per event, and also removing one event altogether.
Firearm instructors tell KETK, during times like this, do not stop practicing with your firearm, but instead work smarter, shoot for efficiency instead of speed.
But whatever you do, do not stop working on your craft, because they say it is a skill that can and will leave you if your put in on the shelf for too long.
