East Texas (KETK) — Our next storm system arrives Wednesday morning with the chance for severe weather.
A cold front will move into Central Texas late Tuesday night and showers and thunderstorms will develop out ahead of the front by early Wednesday morning. The showers and storms will push eastward toward East Texas, arriving in western counties as early as 7-9am. The storms will continue through the early afternoon and could become strong to severe at times.
Damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall are expected. Isolated tornadoes can not be ruled out.
The rain will be ending by late Wednesday evening, with cooler temperatures filtering in behind the cold front.
