Tyler, TX — Terrorism is a very real threat in our county as we saw in connection with the Boston bombings.
When it was revealed the bombers in Boston were from Chechnya many are wondering why Europeans would attack us?
There's a lot of speculation of why the Boston Marathon bombing happened, and if these brothers were a part some terrorist group.
Well with their behavior and history, it explains a little.
"I'm not sure if it has anything to do with ethnicity as all as much as these two were very angry young men," says Dr. Wade French, Therapist & Behavioral Expert.
They could've been a part of terrorist group or just have complete hate for the U.S..
Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, known as the Chechen brothers are suspects in the planned attack of the Boston marathon.
History Professor, Dr. David Stefancic of Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. His expertise Russia and the region.
He calls this case pure speculation and not unusual, and believes this attack has nothing to do with Russia.
"I think what is has to with is his association with probably particular Muslim groups here in the U.S.. And his faith in Islam."
The Chechen brothers are from Dagestan, which neighbors Chechnya in Southern Russia.
They had been living in the U.S.. for quite some time and possibly be living in Cambridge, Mass.
"Their uncle made the comment that they were losers that they couldn't adjust to American society," says Dr. Wade French, Therapist & Behavioral Expert
"For him it was a radical Islam that gave him a sense of grounding probably a sense of belonging...a sense of identity," says Professor David Stefancic.
He says, they were looking for something to ground themselves with.
"They some how got into a group and they were saying that the brother had all kinds of Jihadist material when they began to look at the computer that he has left behind," says Professor David Stefancic.
The bombing was a way to feel part of the group and to find identity.
Dr. Stefancic says, it was well thought out as far as paramilitary aspects and when to plan the attack.
