Austin, TX (KETK) — The Texas Department of Public Safety announced, Monday, that two Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives were captured within the last week. Charles Edward Robertson-Davis, 22, was arrested Wednesday, April 17, in Austin; and Gwen Komahcheet, 62, was arrested Thursday, April 18, by authorities in Mexico.
Robertson-Davis, a Bloods gang member, was arrested Wednesday after investigative leads and surveillance led authorities to a residence where he was arrested without incident. Robertson-Davis was wanted for parole violation and obstructing police/evading arrest. Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation and capture, including the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Office of Inspector General, Office of the Attorney General and Austin Police Department. Komahcheet was detained by Mexican authorities in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, on Thursday. Friday, he was turned over to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Eagle Pass, Texas, and then formally arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Komahcheet had a violent criminal history that included sexual assault, and he had been wanted since 2006 for parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender. This arrest was the result of a tip, and a reward up to $7,500 will be paid. So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies have arrested 12 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders, including four gang members, and $17,500 in rewards have been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.
