Smith County, Texas (KETK) —
UPDATE (3:31 p.m.) : At approximately 12:15 p.m., on Thusday, troopers were called to the scene of a car crash located at the intersection of FM 2813 and CR 128.
A pickup towing a trailer driven by Scott Pope, 43, of Hawkins, was traveling westbound on FM 2813.
A white SUV driven by Omar Saucedo, 29, of Tyler, was eastbound on FM 2813 when it turned left, failing to yield right of way to the oncoming pickup. The pickup struck the SUV as it turned in front of it.
Pope was listed as having incapacitating injures and taken to Trinity Mother Frances hospital in Tyler.
His two passengers were listed as having non-incapacitating injuries and taken to ETMC and TMF.
Saucedo, was listed as having critical injuries and taken to ETMC. His passenger was listed as having non-incapacitating injuries and taken to ETMC.
UPDATE: Details are still very limited on the crash that injured five people in Smith County early Thursday afternoon.
Smith County DPS officials on scene tell KETK, a utility truck pulling a trailer collided with an Explorer driving in the opposite direction.
Both vehicles fell into a nearby ditch, and the Explorer caught fire.
A passerby managed to extinguish the flames before county officials arrived on scene. At least one of the people involved is in very serious condition.

ORIGINAL STORY: A wreck in Smith County involving two cars has left five people injured.
The wreck occurred at CR 134 at FM 2813.
Trooper Skidmoore with the Smith County DPS says one person is very unstable, three have major injuries and one has a minor injury.
KETK will update information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: Trooper Skidmoore tells KETK the driver of the Explorer SUV, Omar Saucedo, 29, of Tyler, was pronounced dead at around 11:30 this morning.
