Longview — A murder suspect who had been released from jail on bond was re-arrested Thursday after a hearing before 124th District Court Judge Alfonso Charles.
Cedric Bernard Carldwell, 43, was taken into custody in the courtroom following the bond hearing on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Carldwell was prohibited from carrying a weapon after his release from prison in 2007.
Witnesses said he fatally shot Huey “Bull” Gray on April 14 when the two argued during a Sunday afternoon neighborhood gathering. He was jailed on a murder warrant April 15 but was freed after posting $175,000 bond.
