(KETK) — The National Day of Prayer will be celebrated by thousands of Americans on Thursday.
It is observed the first Thursday in May each year.
The goal of the day is to have people of all faiths come together to pray for the nation.
According to the National Day of Prayer Task Force, the day has been observed since the 1950s, and was signed into law my President Harry Truman.
