personal umbrellas allowed on island's more popular beach
Galveston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; Beachgoers for the first time in decades will be able to bring beach umbrellas to the most popular beach on Galveston Island this summer.
Umbrella use has been restricted on Stewart Beach to those rented from a concessionaire as far back as Galveston Park Board officials can remember.
