Longview, TX (Longview News-Journal) — Pine Tree ISD is being fined by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for violations at a district bus barn.
The district will spend $14,800 on a local erosion project to offset all but $4,000 of the fine levied essentially for a technical violation regarding a fuel tank at the Birch Street bus refueling station, the state reported today.
According to an agreed order approved Wednesday in Austin, the district failed to renew a certificate showing the underground tank can accept fuel delivery and failed to provide such a certificate to a vendor. The district also failed to provide required proof that piping to the tank is secure, the TCEQ decided Wednesday.
