Longview — Texas parents may face a tough learning challenge later this summer when results of the 2013 STAAR tests are released.
STAAR, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, is the state’s new accountability system for public education.
It replaced TAKS, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills tests which gauged student and districts’ learning success from 2003 to 2012.
A local educator warned Monday, understanding the STAAR results may prove difficult.
