Harrison County, TX (KETK) — A Harrison County woman was arrested on Sunday after stabbing her boyfriend.
Doretha Bowman was arrested after the Harrison County authorities responded to a 911 call in connection with a stabbing that happened in the 100 block of Sid Craver Road in Harelton early Sunday morning. The call came from a home in the 200 block of Hillside Drive.
At around 1:00 a.m., officials say the caller stated Rickey Don Johnson, 53, had been stabbed in the upper part of his left arm by Bowman, 45, after the two had been outside drinking and Bowman became irate when a female neighbor wished Johnson, "Happy birthday."
When deputies arrived at the scene of the assault, Bowman was on the porch, crying and very upset, while she was waiting for her daughter to come to the house. The suspect then produced a knife that is believed to have been used during the stabbing.
Johnson was taken to a Marshall hospital where he was treated and released.
Bowman was arrested at the home and taken to the Harrison County Jail. She was arraigned by Judge George and bond has been set at $50,000.00.
