Tyler, TX (KETK) — What has become of us?
According to a new pew poll, 56 percent of us don't care if the government spies on us at all.
What should I expect, when it seems to be like all most of America cares about anymore is it's new phone upgrade and who's on reality TV.
Currently, 62 percent say it is more important for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, even if that intrudes on personal privacy.
But, the government didn't catch the shoe bomber until it was almost too late and what about the Boston bombers, all this and we missed it.
I think 29-year-old Edward Snowden is to be commended.
I had to soul search to see how I really did feel about him.
But, as far as I know, he never gave any secrets out, he just told us what was really going on in our country.
Stuff I would have never dreamed about.
Diane Fienstine is calling him a traitor.
I think as long as she and I are on opposite ends of any argument, I can live with myself.
Our founding fathers were called traitors too.
Thomas Jefferson said this, "I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
But, the best is from Ben Franklin, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."
Right now, all we care about is being comfortable while our liberty bleeds out from our pop culture-driven lifeless body.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
