Tyler, TX (KETK) — The City of Tyler’s Liberty Hall and APEX Entertainment will host a performance of the children’s musical stage production of “Really Rosie” at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Liberty Hall, located at 110 West Erwin St. This performance is the culmination of a week-long children’s summer drama camp held at Liberty Hall.
“Really Rosie” is a children’s musical written by Maurice Sendak, who is best known for his children books, including "Where the Wild Things Are.”
The musical is the story of a typical summer day in the life of the Nutshell Kids, a group of neighborhood friends, including Rosie, the self-proclaimed sassiest kid on her block. Rosie entertains her friends by directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie based on the exciting, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of her life. Her friends begin fighting, a thunderstorm forces the kids inside and to keep their attention, Rosie decides that they need to perform the big finale number.
The summer camp and production are directed by Felicity Enas and Hannah Morris of APEX Entertainment. APEX provides training of actors for film and the stage and produces cutting-edge plays not available elsewhere in the city.
Tickets to the show this Saturday are $5 at the door. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
