Longview, TX (KETK) Jimmy Carter covers the Lobos for the Longview News-Journal.
KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked Carter about wide receiver Dorian Leonard's decision to play college ball at Texas.
Carter said, "Longview doesn't throw the ball as much as other teams. But he gives them that weapon when they do want to air it out. People compare him to Malcolm Kelly who went to O.U. From Longview. Leonard has got a lot of potential. He's a two-sport athlete. Once he gets into a program like Texas he can turn into a special player at the Big 12 level."
Carter was also asked about Zay Henderson's commitment to TCU.
Carter said, "Look at who has offered him. Everyone in the Big 12, Oregon and Alabama. When Nick Saban is offering a lineman, he's got a chance to be pretty good. Zay likes the atmosphere at TCU and it's close to home. He's found a spot he's comfortable in and he didn't waste any time making his decision."
