Arlington, Texas (KETK) — The Texas Rangers announced, Tuesday, they have signed Marcos Diplan for $1.3 million.
The Dominican right-handed pitcher is currently the number six international prospect.
Diplan, 16, is 5'10" and weighs 160 pounds and is known to have one of the most dominant fastballs on the international circuit.
Diplan trains with Luis Polonia and has played in the the Dominican Prospect League.
July 2 is the first day MLB teams can sign international prospects who have reached 16-years-old.
