Tyler, Texas (KETK) — This Fourth of July, many of us will be out celebrating by watching fireworks.
But remember, not every member of the family enjoys them.
Due to the noise and smell, fireworks put off dogs can become frightened and try to runaway to find shelter.
In fact, animal control sees more dogs run away on this day than any other day of the year.
A Longview animal control officer tells KETK, it's best to keep your animals at home and in a secure environment during the fireworks display.
