(KETK) - Jacksonville Tx — Chris Gill started Lonestar Warriors Outside after being injured in Afghanistan in 2005.
He realized just how much being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, meant to him, especially doing it alongside his fellow veterans.
But it was those late night talk, where he and others could open up about their struggles and scars, that made the greatest impact.
Which is why this organization helps raise money to send injured vets to outdoor activities, where they can have those opportunities for healing.
On Independence Day, and throughout the weekend, his organization is holding "Muddin for the Military" at River Run ATV park just outside of Jacksonville.
The money raised will help fund the organization, and this year they have doubled in size from 2012.
The week is filled with muddin events all weekend long, and it is all the help our wounded heroes.
