Wood County, TX (KETK) — Wood County Sheriff authorities have apprehended the man who led them on an overnight manhunt following a shootout with law enforcement.
Authorities tell KETK, Daniel McLemore was injured during the apprehension, and is being taken to a local hospital.
Late Monday night authorites responded to a domestic violence call on the 3500 block of Farm-to-Market Road 2088, just outside of Quitman.
Authorities had been warned that a McLemore had barricaded himself and another person inside a house in the area.
When they arrived, McLemore fired at officers and authorities returned fire. At the time, nobody had been injured and McLemore ran away from the scene, leading officials on a manhunt for several hours.
A command post was set up and FM 2088 was blocked off during the search. Authorities warned the public that McLemore was likely armed and dangerous.
A warrant for Attempted Capital Murder was issued for McLemore, and his bond will be set at $500,000.
Wood County officials now tell KETK that McLemore is in custody, and was injured during the apprehension.
No motive for the the initial incident has yet been established.
