Longview, TX (Longview News-Journal) — Spring Hill ISD will begin seeking construction bids this week on four tennis courts where, Superintendent Wes Jones said Monday, the district hopes to partner with the city to host tournaments.
The tennis courts will be added alongside four existing courts near the school’s football practice field, just off Spring Hill Road, he said.
“We are starting these courts from bond money left over from the other projects,” Jones said.
Tennis courts range from $80,000 to $150,000 each depending on the type selected, Jones said.
Aside from the benefit to students, the additional courts will allow district officials to consider partnering with the City of Longview Parks and Recreation Department to host tennis tournaments similar to their softball and baseball counterparts.
