(KETK) Overton Tx — Right now East Texas ranchers are working to save their crops from the sweltering heat.
But before long, they will be prepping their land for the incoming winter.
Which is why in August, while it will still be hot outside, the Texas A&M Agrilife Research Center in Overton will hold a winter pasture presentation.
This event will let area ranchers know the advantages of producing winter forage, such as having something for their livestock to graze instead of having to pay for feed or hay before the spring.
This will be the third year the center has organized this expo, and has had positive feedback so far.
The workshop will be held in Overton on August 23rd, and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is limited to only 50 people.
