Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Just this week, we did an story about by the year 2014 all new cars will have to be equipped with a black box.
Some already have them.
Many times in the newsroom, we have discussions about this and they can get heated.
The black boxes are to help with police investigations and also give date about when cars crash how engineers can make them safer.
But, this goes back to the national discussion we are having right now about the NSA.
How much personal information is too much?
We are already doing stories about how your life can be high-jacked by your cell phone information being stolen.
We know, some in government, are wanting to tax you by the mile.
This would be one way they could do that.
If you think the milage tax would take another taxes place, I have some soggy land in deep East Texas to sell you.
If big brother got mad at you, he could just turn your car off.
We have that right now with On-Star, but you ask and pay for that.
I think when you look at how much of our information is being shared, I think it's time to lock the gate for a while.
It's interesting to see how issues like these play out because you see conservatives sound like liberals and liberals sound like conservatives.
Either way, this is America and I want my freedom.
I don't need big brother looking over my shoulder every minute.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
