Longview, TX (KETK) — The balloonists participating in the U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship are finally getting a chance to take flight.
Tuesday and Wednesday's races were canceled due to poor weather conditions, but Thursday's weather has been deemed safe for flying.
Pilots launched near the old Foster school, and can hit four target sites: Maude Cobb, two at Lear Park, and the fourth at Pine Tree Intermediate School.
KETK crews were at the launch site Thursday morning. We'll have a full report on the day's activities on our newscasts at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.!
