(KETK) Henderson Tx — Last week the Henderson food bank was forced to close its doors for two days, due to empty shelves, and although those shelves are being filled once again, they won't stay that way for long.
Once the doors opened again on Friday, volunteers tell KETK families filled the pantry, and lined up outside all day long.
Part of this is due to the summer months, when kids are out of school, and and those schools are no longer helping feed the students.
The doors are still open, and those in need are always welcome to come by and get the help they need.
But volunteers say they also need more volunteers, more food, and always more money.
