Kilgore — Kilgore College Police Chief Martin Pessink has announced his resignation, and school officials say it is highly unlikely a replacement will be named before school starts.
After a lifetime of policing, the chief is leaving for a job outside law enforcement. His resignation is effective Aug. 31.
“I’m taking a managerial position in the private sector,” he said, not elaborating on where he was going but adding he would remain in the Kilgore area.
