Tyler,Texas — For the past fifteen years, Grace Community High School has been working together with Samaritan's Purse and Operation Christmas Child, collecting and sending shoe boxes filled with supplies overseas to children in need.
The school's assistant principal Galen Taylor has helped the school collect almost 14,000 boxes yearly. These boxes are filled with toys, toiletries and school supplies.
Taylor says he would have never dreamed one day, his daughter would help deliver these donations herself.
He says, "We just never really thought that would happen but we would encourage her maybe someday and we always thought it would cost to much or she wouldn't get the opportunity."
Tricia Taylor, 17, just got back from the Philippines, where she finally met the children her high school had helped all these years. Taylor says, "I just always thought it was a really cool experience from kids to kids even though you never meet you can write letters and put your picture in and I always wanted to see the other side of it."
