Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Evidentially, I hit a chord yesterday when we spoke.
I mentioned this is not the same country I grew up in, or it seems.
Look at what is happening in sports.
This Manziel thing is still unfolding and like you or me, he is innocent until proven guilty.
But, the massive cheating in sports, which is sort of a metaphor for the American way.
When I was a kid it was "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game."
Well, that was a bit "Polly-Anna," but now a days it's "Catch me if you can."
How many players have juiced, broken the rules or even gone to jail.
How many teams have just turned their back on what's going on because the person doing who know's what is very valuable.
I heard Johnny Bench and Tommy Lasorda last night on a national show.
They were pleading for A-Rod to be a man and admit all this and take his punishment.
These two guys are giants of the game and also real ambassadors of baseball.
But now-a-days, we accept a batter belting home runs who is juicing and really don't ask questions.
I read last week where someone said juicing was good for the game of baseball because it makes it exciting.
I guess in the record books they will soon, if they haven't already, just put an astrix by players who did great thing, but under the influence of performance enhancement drugs.
But, the main thing that disturbs me is, it seems there is no right or wrong anymore
That's my point of view, what is yours?
