Hallsville, Texas (Longview News-Journal) —
Hallsville ISD police confirmed Thursday they are investigating a reported beating of a student whose mother has called the attack a “staged and planned girl fight video.”
The 12-year-old girl was attacked about 4 p.m., Aug. 1, at the Hallsville High School football stadium, said Hallsville ISD Police Chief Jim Johnson.
“This is rare. This doesn’t happen here. I was really shocked,” he said.
Johnson said he got the call about 4:30 p.m. and said when he arrived he did not notice any serious injuries.
“There were no cuts that I could see and the victim didn’t complain of any cuts,” he said. “She had some red marks on her face and around her eyes.”
One girl and two boys allegedly attacked the girl with the intent to make a “girl fight” video to post online, according to social media posts.
“It involved some girls. It was supposed to be videotaped on a phone, some cell phone or something. I have not been able to track down that video yet,” the police chief said.
