Longview, TX (KETK) — The School Supply Train is rolling into Longview this week.
The Junior League of Longview is holding the event for the 20th year to help students get back to school with confidence and encouragement.
The members are stuffing 3,200 backpacks with school supplies for students from K-12. Students will also be able to get clothes if their district or school requires uniforms. For the first time this year students will get a new pair of shoes.
Eye exams, dental screenings, immunizations, and haircuts are also offered free of charge during the event.
The School Supply Train is open to any student in the surrounding area but the parents or guardians must meet certain requirements.
To participate a parent or guardian must provide their own ID, proof of school enrollment for each child, proof of family income and immunization records for each child.
