Tyler, Texas — Many of the students entering college this fall semester are a little older than most. In fact, many of them are older than their professor. Jack Schell, a career coach with Tyler Junior College says, "I've had students as old as 72 years old. They're very dedicated and will spend the time to be successful."
There are plenty of reasons these students are returning to the college classroom.
No matter what the reason is, in most cases these older students have returned to school after finding the better jobs, go to the applicants with diplomas.
Brenda Balch with Snelling Staffing explains, "When an employer sees a resume and they're looking for that certain experience and also a degree, it shows a sense of completion. The degree shows that the person has actually finished information and education on the topics that are relevant to their career search."
