Cherokee County, Texas (KETK) — The Cherokee County Sheriffice office has arrested a man who fled from deputies  on his motorcyle, striking and injuring one of them in the process.
Around 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Deputies and Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard Ryan Cook at his home in the area of FM 747 South on a Pardon and Parole Warrant as well as Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant.
The arrest was without incident.
Around 10:45 a.m., Friday morning, deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve Richard Ryan Cook, 42, with a Felony Pardon and Parole Warrant at his residence located in the area of the south end of FM747.
As deputies walked up toward the residence, Cook fled on a motorcycle, striking one of the Cherokee County deputies.
Several units with the Cherokee County Sheriffs’ Office, Troopers with Texas Department of Public Safety, Precinct One Constable Lynn Kelley, Precinct Three Constable Eddie Lee and the Texas Department of Public Safety Helicopter assisted in the attempting to locate Cook for approximately five hours.
The Cherokee County Deputy Sheriff struck by the motorcycle is in good condition.
