Tyler — Danny Palmer is the coach of the Tyler Junior College Apaches.
Thursday he signed a Texas A&M quarterback.
"Matt Davis has signed an NJCAA national letter with Tyler Junior College," Palmer told KETK. "We're in the process of going through the NJCAA office and our administration with all the proper paperwork. We expect him on our campus tomorrow."
Palmer is getting an athlete that Rivals.com called the third-best dual-threat quarterback in the country when he came out of Klein Forest High School.
"We think we're special, Palmer said. "TJC is a special place for special people. Young student-athletes that come to Tyler Junior College never regret it."
" They're glad they came here," Palmer added. "There have been some great stories about how they produced and got better, not just in football but in all of our sports."
