Tyler, Texas (KETK) — The University of Houston will have to do without their star running back this year.
Fifth-year senior, Charles Sims, will start for the West Virginia University Mountaineers this year. Sims has always wanted to play in the BIG 12 and it doesn't hurt that playing in a bigger conference will elevate his draft position.
As a Cougar, Sims rushed for over 1,600 yards with 20 touchdowns, and had 948 receiving yards on 88 passes for seven touchdowns.
After an ankle injury, Sims sat out the last two games of the season with Houston.
Sims will start in WVU's season opener against William and Mary.
