(KETK) - Jacksonville Tx — On Monday, Jacksonville school officials voted to put a 22-million dollar bond proposal on the upcoming November fifth election.
School officials say, the current campuses can't sustain the growing number of students.
If the bond passes the plan will be to build an entirely new campus for West Side Elementary, while Nichols Intermediate will receive massive upgrades and expansion.
Overcrowding is the main issue officials hope to alleviate with this new project, but they also say it will increase safety.
The election will be held on November 5th, and if the bond passes, it will raise the property tax rate in Jacksonville by 8.5 cents.
