Nacogdoches County, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has taken a Nacogdoches native living in South Texas into custody for reportedly killing his wife and taking their eight-month-old baby.
Andrew Jared Harvey, 21, was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail and is on an investigative hold. He has been charged with murder, according to Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges.
Bridges stated they received a call from the Rockport Police Department on reports of a homicide that happened in their city.
Investigators found information revealing Harvey was possibly headed to Nacogdoches County with an eight-month-old child. Deputies were able to locate Harvey and detain him on an investigative hold for the Rockport Police Department.
Sheriff Bridges stated deputies on scene conducted a search and recovered possible evidence from the crime scene in which Harvey was in possession of.
Deputies also took possession of a vehicle that belonged to Harvey and it was towed to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office for processing.
Deputies also located the 8-month-old baby in good health and he has since been placed with family members. Child Protective Services has also been contacted.
The Rockport Police Department obtained a murder warrant on Harvey, Tuesday evening. Harvey was charged with murder, Tuesday afternoon, at the Nacogdoches County Jail. Harvey has been arraigned by a Justice of the Peace andwith no bond. Harvey will be taken to the Aransas County Jail in Rockport at a later date.
Harvey has been accused of shooting his wife at their home in Rockport. Harvey fled the area with his 8-month-old child to Sacul, where he was found by officials. The victim, Sky Saenz (Harvey), is from Timpson and was pronounced dead at the scene in Rockport.
All evidence found by Nacogdoches County has been turned over to the Rockport Police Deptartment. The car Harvey was driving has also been processed at the Nacodoches County Sheriff's Office after investigators got a search warrant on the car.
