Gilmer, Texas (KETK) — On Monday August 26, 2013, around 1:30 p.m., the Upshur County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence in the southwestern part of Upshur County in reference to a welfare concern.
Upon arrival, deputies found Jack E. Pierce, 45, of Gilmer, dead.
Deputies found things at the scene to be suspicious and investigator’s with the sheriff's office were contacted. Investigator’s requested an autopsy be performed which was ordered by Justice of the Peace Pct. #1 Laura Norred.
Investigators are currently investigating this case as a possible homicide.
