Tyler — It's a great idea.
That's what KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner says.
The Tyler Independent School District has named a dozen former players to its Hall of Fame.
TISD Director of Athletics Rod Kaspar came up with the idea.
"Once you get into Tyler and hear about the tradition, all the good sports athletes that have been in Tyler, I felt like this was a good idea to do," Kaspar said.
What's the reaction?
"There have been a lot of great athletes come through the TISD athletic venues," Lee coach Darrell Piske said. "It's good to honor them. They built a tradition that we try to uphold today."
"It's exciting, Tyler ISD coming together and honoring the great accomplishments we've had," John Tyler coach Ricklan Holmes said. "We're just letting the world know that great things are are coming out of Tyler, Texas."
