Nacogdoches, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a Nacogdoches man after he was found in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine at his home Friday afternoon.
Dexter White, 41, has been charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance a 1st felony.
An ongoing investigation for several months helped establish information White had been distributing a large amount of crack cocaine and other drugs in Nacogdoches County.
Nacogdoches County Deputies had conducted undercover purchases of narcotics from several different suspects. Deputies were able to identify the source of where those drugs were coming from. Officials gained probable cause to search the suspect residence on Sullivan Street for narcotics. During the investigation deputies gained information White had recently purchased a large amount of crack cocaine to sell.
Deputies conducted a search of the home which led to the discovery of 132 grams of crack cocaine in cookie form. Deputies also located a loaded handgun inside the home where the drugs were being stored.
The arrest comes after an ongoing investigation into drug distribution in Nacogdoches County. The last three months the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has conducted 9 search warrants in Nacogdoches County that has led to the seizure of 2.75 pounds of crack cocaine, 125 grams of methamphetamine and several pounds of marijuana and codeine. There has been 14 local felony arrest made for drug and gun charges during these arrest.
Sheriff Bridges stated that these ongoing drug investigations are a priority for the Sheriff Office to help reduce our crime rate and combat drug distribution in Nacogdoches County. Those arrested and identified have been significant distributors of drugs in our county that have been supplying large amounts of narcotics on the streets.
The crack seized Friday afternoon has an estimated street value of $8,000.00 dollars.
