Tyler, Texas (KEKT) — Roadways are now open after a train hit an idle forklift at Loop 323 and U.S. Highway 271 in Smith County.
Authorities tell KETK crews on scene that a man was crossing the railroad tracks in a forklift when the machine stalled on the tracks.
The driver got out of the forklift before the train collided with it, and was not injured.
Traffic was backed up while crews cleared the train from the track, but all roads are now open and traffic is moving smoothly.
