Tulsa, Oklahoma (KETK) —
An investigation into a suburban Tulsa, Oklahoma, dentist accused of exposing thousands of patients to disease confirmed one case of patient-to-patient transmission of hepatitis C, Oklahoma officials said Wednesday.
A total of 89 patients tested positive for hepatitis C, but the remaining cases have not been directly linked to W. Scott Harrington's dental practice.
Four cases of HIV were found; the CDC is conducting genetic testing to determine whether those cases are tied to the dental office.
In March, state health investigators shut down W. Scott Harrington's dental practice; testing has been completed for 4,202 of his patients.
