Tyler — Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.
He used to write for the Lufkin Daily News.
KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked Stallard about the Longview-Lufkin rivalry.
"It's a great rivalry. I worked in Lufkin from 1990 to 1997. During that time Longview won six of them, Lufkin won one and there was one tie. The average margin of victory was 10 points. All close games. This is the 74th meeting of these teams. Lufkin leads the series 35-34 with four ties. This is the last week before district starts for both teams. Longview is coming off a big win. Lufkin is coming off an emotional loss to Nacogdoches. It's a big game. The Longview Lobos are glad to finally be able to play at home."
