Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Oh, my goodness! The honorable Peter King has been insulted.
According to Politico and MSNBC, the New York Republican congressman has been getting what he called "vile" phone calls at his office from alleged Ted Cruz supporters.
King has called Cruz a fraud for his calls to defund "Obamacare."
"The vehemence of the phone calls coming into the office. I don't care, people can call me whatever they want, I haven't heard such vile, profane, obscene language," King said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," on Thursday.
He lives in New York City and he says he's never heard language like that?
King said while the majority of Cruz fans are "good people," he's concerned about what sentiments Cruz has preyed on. While he doesn't know if Republicans can reach Cruz, they should try to "heal tensions" with his supporters, he said.
I'm not saying Ted Cruz is responsible for all his supporters, but he has tapped into a dark strain.
Here is what it boils down to.
King wants to run for president. No one knows who he is and Cruz just stole the stage from him.
What you are seeing right now is the old guard of the republican in full meltdown.
Some say others are mad that Cruz doesn't show up at the weekly Senate meetings and be told what to do. I guess he doesn't want to hear things like lose and be graceful about it and always listen to political consultants who have not had a winning season in years. Stick to the playbook man and the media will love you and we can be the loyal minority. We can all hang on to our committee assignments.
If not Cruz, someone is going to upset the apple cart and they need to turn that town and all its "hangers-on" upside down.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
